NAVASOTA ANIMAL SHELTER AT CAPACITY
Officials with the Navasota Animal Shelter say they are in a state of emergency.
Animal Control Officer Earline Hicks says shelter is overcapacity, and with the number of kennels available, they don't have the space to host them all.
Hicks says the biggest problem is that owners of pets are not having their animals spayed or neutered.
She goes on to say, that while the shelter accepts monetary donations, contributions like dog and cat food, cleaning supplies, toys, towels, fans, and leashes are items they are always in need of.
Hicks says the Navasota shelter is also in need of volunteers.
Saturday, the shelter is hosting a foster and adoption event from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., for anyone interested in fostering or adopting a pet.
It would certainly help if the Vets did not charge so much for doing the spaying!
