ROUTINE MEETING TUESDAY FOR WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS

A routine meeting for Washington County Commissioners today (Tuesday) included a website hosting request, items for the new Road and Bridge facility, and several monthly reports.

The court approved a request for website hosting with the Texas Association of Counties’ County Information Resources Agency, which was not budgeted in 2020. The agency provides services and resources to Texas counties and local governments, including email and website hosting.

County Information Technology Director T.J. Harris said the annually recurring amount of $1,525 will be on next year’s budget.

Also in court, commissioners approved a request to use $5,179 in courthouse security funds for the purchase of access control equipment to replace the existing access control system. The old equipment will be placed in the new Road and Bridge facility.

Commissioners also reappointed Dorothy Morgan as a member to the Mental Health Retardation (MHMR) Authority of Brazos Valley Board of Trustees, and appointed Lori Wamble as a new member to the Washington County Child Welfare Board.

The court also heard monthly reports from Washington County EMS, E-911, Information Technology, and the Veterans Service Officer, as well as the monthly and racial profiling reports from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Commissioners also:

  • Renewed a basic client services agreement between the county and personnel services pursuant to the automatic renewal clause for the use of temporary employees to work the 2020 spring cleanup events at the collection station.
  • Authorized a change order for a water reclaim system for the new Road and Bridge facility.  The system is used to clean road and bridge equipment.
