SECOND ANNUAL COTTON GIN CLASSIC CAR SHOW SATURDAY IN BURTON

The Burton Cotton Gin will play host this weekend to the Second Annual Cotton Gin Classic Car and Truck Show.

The event gets underway Saturday morning in the shadow of America’s oldest operating cotton gin.  Cars and trucks from 1999 and older can register starting at 9 a.m., and awards will be presented to the best vehicles at 2 p.m.

Registration for the car show is $20, but is otherwise admission-free to the public.  There will also be event t-shirts for sale, door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing.  Proceeds will benefit the Sons of the American Legion Post 242 in Burton.

To learn more, call Tommy Wimberly at 281-744-2117, or email twwburton@gmail.com.

  1. Remember! we are all adults here! at least i hope so! Then your responsible for your own
    actions.

  2. Thanks Ken, I realize that. I’m worried about the people that will carry it home to their loved ones, or around the community. I do get the “we can’t stay hidden forever”, but until we get a better grip on it, communal events are not the thing to do.

    1. Then stay home.
People should be outside, getting fresh air and sunshine.
      Way to go Cotton Gin!

    2. Slaton has a car show recently. Wasn’t they crowded and no reports of cases coming from that event.

People can choose to attend or not: but if we live under a rock too long we’ll miss the world.

  3. Looking forward to being around a bunch of people. Probably won’t be much social distancing, and I’m sure masks will be few & far between. But hey, it is what it is.
