THREE MARIJUANA ARRESTS MADE

Three people face marijuana possession charges after their arrests in two separate cases early Tuesday morning.

Around 1 a.m., Brenham Police Sgt. Curtiss Schoen stopped three males walking on Blue Bell Rd. near the intersection of Burleson St.

A 17-year-old, and two juveniles, aged 16 and 14, said they were walking to the 17-year-old’s home.

While he was talking to them, Schoen says 17-year-old Christopher John Stefanik of Brenham attempted to conceal something with a paper towel. Schoen found a small bag of marijuana.

Stefanik is charged with Possession of marijuana under 2 oz and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Then, around 2:45 a.m.. Officer Terrence Johnson conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of S. Austin.

Johnson says the driver gave consent to search the vehicle, during which time marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.

20-year old Rikki Miriah Jean Mead of Brenham was charged with Possession of drug paraphernalia, while 23-year old Timothy James Winters of Brenham was charged with Possession of marijuana under 2 oz.

  1. I totally agree with Senior. This is all about revenue in this county. Why not give citations to the individuals with the misd. charges like they do in Austin, Houston and yes even College Station.

  2. Again I say, it starts at home. These kids are too young to be out at this time of the night. I hope it’s not a case of “my child would never do that”!!

    1. The only reason you would not give consent to search your vehicle is if you are guilty. If you are innocent you have nothing to lose. Why is anyone out at 2:45am anyway unless you are going to work? Right or no right !!

  3. Marijuana is an illegal addictive substance. Alcohol is a legal addictive substance. Which one, when consumed by vehicle operator results in the most traffic deaths and injuries? We know the answer, so does law enforcement. But they choose to ignore the numerous drivers each and every day that leave the local establishments driving under the influence of alcohol. Why? These beer joints sell a popular and taxable item that generates revenue, so don’t bother the cash cows customers. No matter that our young people see this each and every day while we preach at them about drinking and driving. Law officers, please do you jobs, no matter how it hurts the sales tax coffers.

    1. Senior where do you live? There are DWI arrests weekly here. Are you following the Officers around every shift?

      1. I could not disagree more, I think law enforcement takes DWI’s very seriously. There are numerous arrests for this all the time. This is an area they do a fine job of.

If you want to talk about revenue generation, lets talk about traffic tickets, those are almost always about revenue generation.

  4. What are boys this age doing out at 1am? I can only hope their parents did not know or approve.
