2014 PUTT 2 CURE MS A BIG SUCCESS
A huge collection of golfers and non-golfers alike turned out at Horseshoe Junction Wednesday night, all for one purpose: to raise funds to cure MS.
The seventh annual Putt2Cure MS mini-golf tournament brought together nearly one hundred competitors, all with the intent to sink putts to help Michael Brinkmeyer in his fund-raising efforts for the MS150.
Brinkmeyer is an annual participant in the bicycle ride to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. As part of his fund-raising efforts he began the Putt2Cure tournament seven years ago.
The tournament, as usual, featured anything-but serious golf. Players were able to get help from “caddies” who could insure aces and aide the golfers…while also making things tough for other competitors by forcing them to putt with such implements as: a sledge hammer, hockey stick, a broom or a swimming noodle—all for donations to MS.
The tournament team champions were “Jasters the Masters”, consisting of: Tammy Jaster, Colton Jaster, Justin Jaster and Alex Klinker. Second place went to “Fifty Shades of Courthouse” and the KWHI/KTEX-106 team of “Carl Spangler Bent” was third.
The top individual adult golfer was Zach Holder. Justin Jaster was second and Gary Rothermel finished third.
The top individual youth golfer was Colton Jaster. Second went to Haley Blakey and Owen Blakey was third.
The KWHI duo of Craig Montana and The Sports Doc took the Battle of The Morning Shows title defeating the KTEX-106 team of Kyla McCoy and Trailboss Troy.
