Christmas Eve traffic along Highway 290 east of Brenham saw slowdowns as fire department personnel worked the scene of a vehicle fire.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded to Highway 290 at Bluebonnet Boulevard.

Units made location and found a truck that was separated from its trailer and on fire.
Firefighters coordinated traffic control and extinguished the vehicle.
Photos shared by the department show extensive damage to the truck, but no injuries were reported. It is unknown what caused the fire.
