BELLVILLE HOTEL BACK ON TRACK

  

Plans for a 60-70 room hotel in Bellville are apparently back on track.

The project, which had been in a state of limbo for the past several months, has been revitalized with a presentation at a recent Bellville City Council meeting.

According to the Oldham-Goodwin Group LLC, the Best West facility will include 60-to-70 rooms with a mix of standard rooms and suites, a pool,  a fitness center, a breakfast area, high speed internet and an 1800 square foot conference room.

Developers say the hotel will also provide Bellville with 25 permanent jobs.

The agreement between the developers and the city includes an Economic Development Investment of a maximum of $300,000, which would include the cost of city permits, utility connections, and BEDC funds to cover infrastructure construction.

The hotel owner agrees to develop an Annual Marketing Plan to promote tourism in Bellville, and would include a reimbursement agreement.

Following a lengthy presentation, the council unanimously approved the agreement.
