BHS THEATRE STUDENTS TO COMPETE AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

  

The Brenham High School (BHS) Theatre Department announced this week that three of the school’s students qualified to compete at the International Thespian Festival in Nebraska in June of 2017.

The theatre department recently attended this past December, the Texas Thespian State Festival in Dallas, Texas and of the 21 students attending, one of the groups competing consisted of Andrew Mueller, Sara Spencer, and Dylan Strickland whom qualified to compete at the national convention with a Superior standing for their performance of She Kills Monsters. The rest of the students that competed in national qualifying events received a rating of Excellent: Jonathan Acosta and Madison Darr (duet acting), Monica Andrade (monologue), Brittany Blevins and Abigail McGraw (duet musical), and Allison Stewart (solo musical.

“We are proud of all of our students, the department and look forward to a great spring season filled with U.I.L competitions, upcoming spring performances and proud that Brenham High School had these qualify for this National Competition,” stated Mary Dupree, Brenham High School Assistant Theatre Director.
