BRENHAM ISD ADMINISTRATOR TAKES POST WITH BRYAN I.S.D.

A long-time Brenham ISD administrator is leaving for Bryan.
Monday night the Bryan ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Michael Watts as principal of MC Harris, Bryan’s alternative campus for over-aged and under-credited students.
Watts, who served as principal of Brenham’s PRIDE Academy and Alternative Ed Program will oversee numerous programs, such as Star Academy, the newly formed middle school alternative education program.
Watts served as principal of the PRIDE Academy and DAEP in Brenham ISD since 2015. Prior to that, he held the positions of associate principal, assistant principal, teacher and coach for many years.
Watts holds a master’s degree in education from Prairie View A&M University, a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and an associate degree from Blinn College.
He is a former all-state baseball player from Brenham High School who played for two state championship-winning teams in 1986 and 1987.
