CRIMINAL MISCHIEF AT HENDERSON PARK
Brenham Police are investigating a case of criminal mischief at a city park.
Monday morning, Officer Mickey Gressman responded to Henderson Park in reference to a report of vandalism.
Parks employees reported that someone damaged a park building sometime over the weekend.
The damage was estimated at over $1,000.

Recently i called the police in response to an incident in this park and they disspatched two very young and very new patrol officers. They were very professional and their intentions were good; however, they told me they could only enforce the law to an “extent” because the offenders were juviniles. I think its obvious that some inservice training is in order. We pay taxes on this park and it needs to be safe and maintained.
What’s typical is your negativity. Is it somehow the park’s or city’s fault that the vandalism happened in the first place? Should we not have parks in town because of stupid people doing stupid things? Do you see where this is going?
Why not start a Neighborhood watch program in this area? Start getting the people involved in their own neighborhood and let them see the value of having this park and taking care of it. There are plenty of houses around there-why is nothing ever seen or reported? Step up people!! Take care of what the good Lord has blessed us with.
Oh and the city wants to renovate this park and spend a ton of money so more of this can happen.
