DUALLY TRUCK FIRE ON HIGHWAY 36 SOUTH

  

The Brenham Fire Department was dispatched just before 3pm today (Friday) to a report of a vehicle fire on Highway 36 South in front of Walmart.  They arrived to find a dually pickup in the north bound lane fully involved in flames.  Firemen quickly extinguished the fire while the police department routed some of the busy Friday afternoon traffic through parking lots to avoid the scene.  The fire scene blocked both north bound lanes of Highway 36 for a time and reduced the south bound to just one lane.  The dually truck was pulling a goose neck trailer which appeared to have escaped damage.
