LEMAN/WOLFSKILL FEATURED RACE IN TODAY’S RUNOFF ELECTION

Today is runoff election day across the state.

Jill Wolfskill

Locally the most interest is in the runoff for the Republican race between Ben Leman and Jill Wolfskill for the party nomination for District-13 State Representative.

Ben Leman

The winner will face Democrat Cecil Webster in the November election.

The winner will also assume the District-13 post until the end of the year after Leighton Schubert left the post for a position at Blinn College.

Both Leman and Wolfskill agreed the loser of today’s election would drop out of a runoff for the remainder of Schubert’s term.

Four voting locations will be open from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM Tuesday.

Precinct 1 will vote at the Event Center at the Washington County Fairgrounds on East Blue Bell Road.

Precinct 2 will vote at the VFW Hall on East Tom Green Street.

Precinct 3 will vote at the American Legion Hall on North Park Street.

And Precinct 4 will vote at the Blinn College Student Center.

A total of 1574 Republicans and 174 Democrats cast ballots locally, for a total of 1748 votes cast.

County Clerk Beth Rothermel reminds voters that if they voted in the March 6th Primary Election, they have to vote in the same party’s runoff election.  If a voter did not vote in the Primary, then they can vote in the party runoff of their choice.

KWHI will have the results tonight as soon as they become available.
