According to the Brenham Police Department, the warrant was issued Thursday and Gabriel turned himself in Friday morning.

Gabriel is accused of exposing himself to a woman in his office in late March.

The alleged victim immediately contacted authorities but did not sign the formal complaint until earlier this week.

Gabriel was freed after posting $750 bond.

Earlier this week, Gabriel announced he was dropping out of the mayor’s race due to an “investigation”, but would not release any details.

When informed that the deadline to drop out of the race was long since passed (March 4), Gabriel announced he was still in the race.

However, he was a no-show for Thursday night’s Candidates Forum at Brenham National Bank, that Was broadcast live on KWHI.

Gabriel is running against current Brenham Mayor Milton Tate in the May 9th election.

  1. I agree with you Rebecca! Dr. Gabriel is a wonderful man! This whole story is ridiculous and ANY one who knows him, knows this is just not true. Sad that small town polictics can do this to a person! What a shame! We are praying for you Dr.Gabriel!

  2. This is ridiculous! Dr Gabriel is not only an upstanding citizen, he’s a wonderful person. This sounds a lot like an opportunist attack as he was in the public spotlight! Just awful!

    1. As I was not in room to witness this situation, I would not be able to say if allegation is true. Whether or not someone appears to be a “good citizen” does not appear to be relevant. You are only as “good” as your last action. In current times with the media’s portrayal of police work and what the police actually do for us 24-7 has not been fair. With every profession you will have some bad apples.

So thank you Brenham police and all police for looking into investigating these matters.

      1. I agree! You never know who to trust these days. The nicest person in the world could be the more evil at heart.
