ONE PERSON ARRESTED ON WARRANT CHARGED, SIX ON MARIJUANA CHARGES

Cpl Justin Schiller responded to the 300 block of Riggs Street around 2am Sunday morning in response to a disturbance call.

When Schiller arrived, a male subject, believed to be involved in the disturbance, was attempting to leave on foot.

The man, thirty-eight year old Curtis Wayne Tennell, Jr, of Bryan, was arrested and taken to the Washington County jail, charged with possession of marijuana under 2 oz, and public intoxication.

Sgt. Kelvin Raven conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr and Burleson Streets Saturday around 4:15pm.

Raven asked the driver to step out of the car, and as he did, Raven could smell the strong odor of marijuana emitting from him.

Raven asked the man, nineteen-year old William R Lidiak of Richmond if he had anything illegal on him, and the man admitted to having marijuana in his pocket.

Cpl Seth Klehm conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of South Market around 1am Saturday morning, in which the driver appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic.

Klehm requested the driver, nineteen-year old Dayvon Hill, of Brenham, to exit the vehicle, and asked for consent to search.

The driver refused to allow Klehm to search, so he deployed his K9 partner Ronny.

During a free air sniff, Ronny alerted Klehm to the presence of narcotics. During the search, Klehm found marijuana behind the gas cap.

On Friday around 10:00pm, Cpl Steven Eilert and other officers were notified by Officer Kevin Mertz that he had seen a male subject leave the area of Fireman’s Park.

The subject had an active warrant for his arrest for assault. Eilert conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of 300 N Austin Parkway, and Sgt. Kelvin Raven had the male, nineteen-year old Devonte D Dorsey, exit the vehicle so he could be arrested.

Investigator Eddie Ocanas said he could smell marijuana emitting from the vehicle, and during the probable cause search, located a baggy of marijuana in the center console.

A bottle of alcohol was also found.

Neither the driver, twenty-year old Alexus Monique Palmer of Bellville, nor the passenger, twenty year old Kenneth Clark of Brenham claimed ownership of the marijuana, so both were arrested.

Clark was charged with possession of marijuana under 2oz

Palmer was charged with possession of marijuana under 2oz

Dorsey was arrested on the Assault warrant
