“Step into the Past: Brenham Historical Tours” begins this Saturday.  For the first time, seven historic sites in Brenham will all be open to the public.  The seven locations include, The Barnhill Center at the Simon Theatre, Glissmann Drug Store, Toubin Park, The Brenham Heritage Museum, The Brenham Fire Museum, The Giddings Wilkin House and The Giddings Stone Mansion.

“Step into the Past” is a cooperative effort by Main Street Brenham, The Washington County Chamber of Commerce, The Brenham Heritage Museum, The Brenham Fire Museum, and The Heritage Society of Washington County.  Each organization has committed to keep their locations open every Saturday for the next 6 months help increase tourism to Washington County.

The tour will feature videos produced by Sharon Brass and James Pharaon Creative.  In the videos, local actors portray historical figures from Brenham’s past.  The Barnhill Center at the Simon Theatre will feature a 20 minute video entitled “The Dawn of Washington County”.  The public is encouraged to begin the tour at the Simon Theatre to view the video or at the Brenham Heritage Museum where 3 videos will introduce viewers to some of the founders of Brenham.  Admission to either location is $3 for adults and $1 for children.  Admission to both of the historic homes is $15 for adults and $5 for children.  There is no admission charge for the other 3 locations.
