  1. Frank,
All races are included if you like Tejano music. You don’t have to have African American entertainment to be entertained. There may be a lot of African Americans that don’t listen to African American music. As well as Tejano’s that may not listen to Tejano music.

Not too mention, in Brenham, African Americans have Juneteenth, but what does the Tejano population of Brenham have?

Let’s not get into Maifest. In closing, go down and listen to some Tejano music, eat some Tejano food, learn some Tejano words, meet some Tejano people and then when the African American entertainment comes to town, go out and do the same. Then when the German entertainment comes around, go out and do the same thing. Then when the other entertainment events of different races come to town, go out and do the same.

In all, you will be so well rounded and liked within the community that others will look up to you and may begin to do the same thing as you. So, for the sake of us all, we all could come together and enjoy the broad range of diversity here in “small town” Brenham. This will bring us closer together and make our community better for all that come and stay here.

Remember the song “Gangman Style,” and how that took off? Korean entertainment, and I bet people in Brenham listened to it.

  2. The Washington County Fair started Tejano night years ago and I applaud that and they have headliner entertainment for them but they have always ignored the African American community. Why not include all races in the Washington County Fair.

    1. Tejano night is to celebrate Tejano music. Most of the other nights are focused on country music. Having an African American night would serve to celebrate a particular race. You see the difference? Besides, Tedashii is a black hip hop artist playing tonight at 7:30. All races are included at the fair so come out and enjoy instead of whining about some perceived injustice that doesn’t exist.
