THREE ARRESTED ON POSSESSION CHARGES
Three people face possession charges after their arrests this weekend in Brenham.
30-year old Christian Leon Johnson was arrested after a traffic stop Saturday night in the 2700 block of Highway 290 West.
During a routine traffic stop, Cpl. Steven Eilert says he saw marijuana residue on Johnson’s lap. A search turned up crack cocaine and a handgun reported stolen out of Houston.
Johnson is charged with Theft of a firearm; Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and Possession of a controlled substance.
21-year old William Troy Rutledge of Brenham is charged with Possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.
Sunday morning, just before 1:00, Officer Sierra Newell saw a vehicle parked at Hohlt Park – after curfew. Newell says she could smell marijuana and saw smoke coming from the car.
Rutledge claimed the marijuana was his.
And, Sunday night, 32-year old Robert Javor Jones of Brenham was arrested during a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Jackson.
During the stop, Cpl. David Dudenhoeffer found that Jones had a warrant for Criminal Non-Support.
During a search of his vehicle, a brown bag containing marijuana was located on the front passenger floor board.
In addition to the warrant, Jones is also charged with Possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.
