TXDOT HOLIDAY DRIVING TIPS

The American Automobile Association estimates that between three and four million Texans will be on the state’s highways during the Thanksgiving traveling period beginning tomorrow (Wednesday).

The cool and damp weather has the Texas Department of Transportation concerned.  Bob Colwell of the Bryan office of TxDot says with the inclement weather recently hampering travel conditions in north and west Texas, and the continued cool conditions in our area, they are reminding drivers to stay off the roadways as much as possible during any severe conditions.  He says if you have to get on the road use extreme caution.

Colwell says however, that people do want to see their families and TxDot has some important safety tips for anyone behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Colwell says to check on line for travel conditions at www.DriveTexas.org

TxDot advises to put away cell phones, buckle the seat belts, drive to the conditions, use the left lane for passing only and obey the traffic laws.
