WASHINGTON CO. ELIMINATED FROM MAJOR TOURNEY
College Station rallied for four runs in the fourth inning and held on to eliminate the Washington County 12-year old All-Stars from the Section-I tournament at Anderson Park, Thursday night.
Following a half-hour lightening delay, College Station’s Connor Cortez keyed the comeback with a three-run homer.
Washington County had rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the top of the third on an rbi-single by Jacob Maybe, followed by a two-run homer by Gunner Gee, taking a 4-3 lead.
Maybe and Gee would each finish with two hits.
Ian Stelter had a single and scored a run. Caden Kalkhake had a single and an rbi.
College Station will face Elgin in an elimination game, Friday at 5:00.
Elgin lost to Lufkin, 30-0. Lufkin will face Western Hills in the semifinal at 8:00, Friday.
