FLOODING CONCERS FOR AUSTIN COUNTY
After last week, in much of the area, it appears even after years of drought, flooding is a major concern.
Austin County Judge Carolyn Bilski says when the Austin County Commissioners meet Wednesday they will urge amendments to federal proposals reforming flood insurance. Judge Bilski says the reforms themselves need reforming.
Judge Bilski says the new reforms could make getting flood insurance cost prohibitive for many property owners, while acknowledging the flood insurance program is in arrears.
The Austin County Commissioners are meeting Wednesday this week, at 9am at the courthouse in Bellville.
