FELONY DWI ARREST

  

A 64-year old Brenham man was arrested on a felony driving while intoxicated charge, Tuesday afternoon, when a witness reported to police they saw him consuming an alcoholic drink while driving in the downtown area.

Brenham police officer Heather Sowders began following the driver of a blue Chevy Suburban on Commerce Street  at about 3:30pm.   Police reports say he was taking what appeared to be evasive actions, making several turns before finally stopping West Jefferson and Wilkins Street.

Officer Sowders had Willie Bimage take a field sobriety test and he failed.  He was then arrested for a third offense driving while intoxicated, a felony.
