CASA FOR KIDS AND NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY

  

Today (Monday) is National Adoption Day and a local group of child advocates are using the day to place foster children into homes in time for Thanksgiving.

Julie Overstreet of Court Appointed Special Advocates says they want to have as many foster children adopted as soon as possible but they will continue their efforts long after National Adoption Day.  She says five children from their service area including Washington County are finding homes this week.

CASA for Kids speaks up on behalf of children involved in legal proceedings concerning abuse, abandonment, and neglect.

CASA For Kids of Central Texas advocates for 100 percent of abused and neglected children in foster care in Washington, Austin, and Colorado Counties.  They urge any family wanting to bring a child under foster care into a loving home to log on to their website at www.wespeak4kids.org.
