PROGRAM FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN WITH EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS
The parents and guardians of children and teens who have behavioral problems have a chance to learn more about how to deal with their children with a program that begins on January 20th.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Brazos Valley-Brenham Chapter is sponsoring this program from 6:30 to 9pm at the Brenham Church of Christ at FM 577 and U.S. 290.
Trained teachers who are themselves the parents of children who have emotional and behavioral difficulties prior to the age of 13 years will be leading the course. These two and a half hour classes will be held once a week each Monday for five weeks.
The course gives parents and other caregiver’s basic information necessary to take the best care possible of their child, along with the rest of their family. The course will teach coping skills to help alleviate the impact that emotional and behavioral difficulties and the critical role families play in the treatment of those conditions.
