CITY COUNCIL POSSIBLY PICKING AN ARCHITECT FOR ANIMAL SHELTER

The Brenham City Council will continue efforts to build a new animal shelter when they meet for the first time this year, Thursday at city hall.  They will possibly pick an architect to design the new Pet Adoption and Animal Care Facility.

The City Council chose a site next to the Brenham Police Station at their last meeting, on December 19th.  Brenham police chief Rex Phelps told the council that since the police department is in charge of animal control it only made since to place the animal shelter close to them on Longwood Drive.

When the Council meets Thursday they will  act on a proposal for architectural services.

The Council will also hold a public hearing on a possible reinvestment zone on nearly 5 acres at 3201 South Blue Bell Road.

The Council is also looking for advanced funding with the Texas Department of Transportation for the installation of a traffic light on highway 290 business at Chappell Hill.

The Brenham City Council meets Thursday at one at city hall.
