MAN ARRESTED IN HAMMER ATTACK

  

A 27-year old Brenham man is in custody after he allegedly hit his female companion with a hammer in the pre-dawn hours Tuesday.

Brenham police officer Hunter Andreas was dispatched to the emergency room of the Scott and White Hospital in Brenham.  There the victim  told the officer her boyfriend hit her in the head with a hammer when she told him she wanted to break up.

A warrant was issued for the suspect and the Fusion Unit of the Brenham Police Department went to the man’s home in the 200 block of Lott Lane.  He had left for Bellville. The Fusion Unit Officers notified Bellville police and they found 27-year old Dwayne Latrea Bonner just before four pm, Tuesday.  He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/dating violence.
