REPAIRS APPROVED FOR AUSTIN COUNTY COURTHOUSE
The leaks and cracks that have plagued the Austin County Courthouse should be repaired soon after some recent actions by the County Commissioners.
Austin County Judge Carolyn Bilski says the 1950s era courthouse needs leveling as the priority.
The Austin County Commissioners also discussed repairing and sealing cracks in the courthouse entry area and a chemical injection of the grout into the basement walls. Courthouse workers have said there are several leaks there, as well.

The old courthouse burned down in 1960. The present courthouse was not built until the 1960s–not the 1950s. In any case, it could use a major face lift.
