WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SIX WARRANTS AND DRUG CHARGES
A car suspiciously parked on the side of the road in the pre-dawn hours Saturday led to the arrest of a 31-year old Austin woman for drug possession charges and six outstanding warrants.
Sgt. Lloyd Powell of the Brenham Police Department found a car parked on the side of a frontage road for the 2000 block of Highway 290 at 5:22am Saturday morning.
He found a woman sleeping in the back seat with her child, awoke her and questioned her.
The woman told him her battery died on the way to Houston and her cell phone had gone out so she couldn’t call for help.
The woman had originally given her name as Natasha McClenndan but when she called her boyfriend, he called her ‘April.’ The cell phone was beginning to work by then.
A radio check discovered that her real name was April McClenndan and she was wanted on six warrants , mostly for traffic offenses. A search of her car found a small plastic bag of hydrocordone. McClenndan was arrested for two counts of possession of controlled substances, failure to identify, and the six outstanding warrants.
