TWO WEEKEND DWI BUSTS WITH TWISTS
Brenham police made two arrests for driving while intoxicated over the holiday weekend.
Both of them had some unusual twists.
Brenham Police Officer Justin Schiller was patrolling in downtown Brenham just past midnight Sunday when he saw a car sitting in the roadway at Vulcan and North Market, with the engine running and the taillights on. When they driver saw the police unit they drove off to the 100 block of South Market.
The driver, 22-year old Chelsea Noelle May appeared to the officer to be intoxicated, had her take a field sobriety test. She failed and was arrested.
A 48-year old Houston man is facing felony charges of Driving While Intoxicated with three child passengers after a traffic stop late Saturday night.
The driver raced by passed Officer Justin Schiller in the 1700 block of North Park at 10:34pm Saturday. The vehicle was going 59 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone.
Officer Schiller was able to stop Victor Emmanuel Cameron in front of Andrea’s Taco Shop. He had Cameron take a field sobriety test that he failed. There were three child passengers in the car with him, and all of them were under the age of 15. Cameron was charged with three counts of DWI with Child Passengers. The children were released to Cameron’s girlfriend who was called to the scene.
