CITY COUNCIL TO FINISH UP ANNEXATION WORK

Brenham City Manager Terry Roberts says the City Council is finishing up work on the annexation of some 400 acres of land adjacent to the western city limits of Brenham.

The Council will have a joint meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday afternoon at city hall for a public hearing on the annexations.  In the previous hearing, some property owners in the area expressed concerns about the extension of city services and restrictions on livestock.

Roberts says this was expected but extending city services is not a problem because all of the land is adjacent to the city limits.

After the hearing the City Council is expected to annex the properties on its first reading.
