COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO GRANT OIL AND GAS LEASE
Washington County Judge John Brieden says with rising gasoline prices across the nation, it is good news for people who can get royalties from oil and gas.
That’s what he hopes will happen when he and the Washington County Commissioners award a bid for gas and minerals in land the county owns in Tom Green County, near San Angelo.
Judge Brieden says Pat Fairchild and his oil and gas exploration company has leased the land before and says Fairchild is confident they will eventually find oil and gas at that location.
Washington County owns several thousand acres in Tom Green County and they bring in additional funding to the Brenham and Burton School Districts.
The Washington County Commissioners meet Tuesday morning at nine at the courthouse.
