COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO ACCEPT DONATION FOR GAZEBO
The gazebo on the grounds of the Washington County courthouse has been the place for wedding receptions, speeches, performances and numerous other presentations since it was built for the nation’s bicentennial celebrations in 1976.
Since then it has begun to show some wear and tear and repairs have been made. Washington County Judge John Brieden says more work is needed and when the Washington County Commissioners meet Tuesday at the courthouse they will accept a donation to begin the work.

Judge Brieden says even though donations will pay for the repairs the commissioners need to approve the work.
He expects further donations to come in and says most of the communications that have come in show the public wants the gazebo where it has been for nearly 40 years.
