CAMERON MAN ARRESTED FOR HOLDING GUN TO WIFE’S HEAD
A Cameron man has been arrested for holding a gun to his wife’s head then shooting up vehicle in the area.
Twenty-two year old Aberlino Duarte is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Mischief, Deadly Conduct, and probation violations.
Police say Duarte was mad at something he found on his wife's cell phone, and held a gun to her head. The wife eventually escaped unharmed. Police say later that morning, a number of vehicles were shot up in Cameron, and there were connections to the cell phone text messages found by the suspect and the vehicles shot.
Duarte was arrested without incident. According to police, drugs were found at the place where he was hiding, and drug charges are pending.
Along with Duarte, twenty-one year old Mercedes Wells was also on the scene and arrested for warrants on Assault and Disorderly Conduct Fighting from an unrelated incident.
Duarte and Wells were taken to the Milam County jail.
