SPECIAL ELECTION DATES AND TIMES ANNOUNCED BY COUNTY CLERK
Preparations are continuing for the upcoming December 6 Special Election for State Senator, District 18, being sought after by Lois Kolkhorst after she announced that she would run for the seat vacated by Senator Glen Hager after he won his bid for State Comptroller.
Washington County Clerk Beth Rothermel says that these are the dates and times for the Special Election:
Wednesday, November 26, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday, November 29, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Sunday, November 30, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Monday, December 1, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday, December 2, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Rothermel says that ballots by mail applicants that have previously submitted an application and checked “Annual Application,” will receive a ballot by mail.
If the applicant did not check “Annual Application,” they will not receive a ballot by mail for the Special Election.
If you voted by mail in the November General Election, you may want to call the County Clerk’s office to see if you will be getting a ballot by mail, or if you need to submit a new application.
New applications for ballots by mail must be received in the County Clerks office by mail on or before November 26. Applications received after that date will be rejected, and the voter must vote in person either during Early Voting or on Election Day.
Curbside voting is always available for any voter who finds it difficult to physically enter the polling place.
The list of the polling places will be announced tomorrow after the Washington County Commissioners Special Agenda.
