BROWN NAMED NAGURSKI FINALIST
Former Brenham Cub and current Texas Longhorn defensive tackle Malcom Brown has been named a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
The award is presented annually to the nation’s best defensive player.
Brown, a junior with the Longhorns, was the only Big 12 player and the lone lineman to make the list of five finalists.
His competition are defensive backs Landon Collins of Alabama, Senquez Golson of Mississippi and Gerod Holliman of Louisville. Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright is also on the list.
The winner will be announced Dec. 8.
