MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN G.I. NOW OPEN IN COLLEGE STATION

The Museum of the American G.I. opened to the public Friday, ending fourteen years of hard work and dedication to a place preserving the history of American servicemen and women.

The museum, located in south College Station, displays some of the best collections of running armored vehicles and military equipment, and includes a number of restored tanks, armored cars, jeeps and trucks from both World Wars, as well as a collection of military uniforms.

Museum President Brent Mullins says that since this is a living museum, they plan to take the vehicles out and do public demonstrations.

The museum is located in the 19000 Block of Highway 6 in College Station and is open three days a week, on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am till 5:30pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 5pm.
