HIGH-SPEED CHASE ENDS IN BRENHAM
A high-speed chase that began overnight near Hempstead, ended with the arrests of two men in Brenham.
The wild chase began when Waller County Sheriff’s deputies tried to pull over Lorenzo Hernandez and Adam Alcozer on Highway 290, near FM-1488.
The two reportedly led authorities down 290 into Washington County, at speeds up to 120 miles per hour.
At one point, the two rammed one Waller County patrol car and sideswiped a second.
The chase ended when the suspect’s tires were spiked in Brenham.
Alcozer reportedly tried to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended.
During the chase, Waller County authorities say the two tossed over $50,000 worth of methamphetamine out of the car window, which was retreived.
Two Waller County deputies were treated for minor injuries.
Hernandez and Alcozer are charged with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Possession of Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, and Evading Arrest.
DPS Troopers, Hempstead Police, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and Brenham Police assisted in the chase.
