MAJOR ACCIDENT SHUTS DOWN 290 WEST IN BOTH DIRECTIONS

There was a major accident involving an 18 wheeler gravel truck, which had Highway 290 W at the 8700 Block shut down in both directions until about 2:30 this afternoon.

A St. Joseph helicopter landed on Highway 290 and transported the injured driver of the truck.

The accident, which occurred around 12:30pm today is located near Red Tip Lane, near the Artesian Park, 8.7 miles west of downtown.

The Brenham Fire Department and the Washington County EMS responded to the scene, as well as the Life Flight Helicopter.
