TRUCK FIRE DISRUPTS TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY 290
No injuries are being reported in an afternoon truck fire on Highway 290.
At 3:40 p.m. the Brenham Fire Department was called out to the 500 block of Highway 290 East to an 18-wheeler that caught fire in front of Germania Insurance.
The fire began in the motor of the truck, destroying the cab and spreading partially to the trailer.
Authorities diverted traffic off of 290 and rerouted vehicles onto the feeder road and onto Stringer St. and Becker Dr.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

I thought I saw two of Salem trucks at the fire also.
Why do we not hear about our VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS? They are just as important and do not get paid at all unlike Brenham.
yes thank you very much to the Brenham firefighters for working so hard in this high heat
Yes we are proud of our firefighters. Please support them this weekend at their Fireman’s Fiesta.
This is definitely the time to thank our firefighters! The temperature is 102 and they’re out there in full gear ! Firefighters, thank you for the job you do!
