BLUEBONNET TO UPGRADE POWER LINES IN SOUTHWEST BURLESON COUNTY

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members in southwest Burleson County will experience temporary power outages Thursday, Nov. 5, as crews complete an upgrade to electric distribution lines. The upgrade will increase the voltage carried through the power lines and is needed to continue to reliably serve a growing number of homes and businesses in the area.

Due to the size of the upgrade, Bluebonnet will complete it in two parts on Thursday, Nov. 5. The first planned outage is scheduled for 9 to 10 a.m. It will affect about 90 members on CR 327, CR 332, CR 333, CR 364, CR 365, CR 377, PR 200 and PR 2008. The second planned outage is scheduled for 1 to 2:30 p.m. It will affect about 140 members on CR 203, CR 332, CR 333, CR 334, CR 366, CR 380, FM 2000, PR 200 and PR 2003.

Bluebonnet representatives have contacted the businesses who will be affected by the planned outage. Bluebonnet will also call each residential member who will be affected by the outage to inform them of the exact time and date they will be without power.

There will be about 50 vehicles and 75 Bluebonnet employees and contractors in the area to complete the upgrade. Residents and motorists in the area should be aware of Bluebonnet’s crews and trucks and are urged to use caution when traveling on the affected streets.

“With this many vehicles and people concentrated in one area it is especially important to be extra careful when driving,” said Mark Rose, Bluebonnet’s general manager. “Our crews and contractors will work quickly and safely to complete the job with as little impact on our members as possible. We take every precaution possible to make these jobs safe, and ask that residents and business owners in the area be extra cautious and aware of our crews.”
