BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT
The Brenham Fire Department on Monday responded to several calls one around noon for an automatic mutual aid for Chappell Hill FD to 5959 US Highway 290 E. for a possible grass fire. Prior to BFD’s arrival, Chappell Hill FD canceled BFD units because it was a control burn.
Then around 6:30pm, BFD responded to 902 College Ave., Blinn College, for a smoke investigation in the area. BFD along with Blinn PD searched the area and could not find any smoke.
Then at around 6:40pm, BFD responded to the area of Airport Rd. and Old Independence Rd. for a possible grass fire. Upon arrival BFD found that it was a control burn and no further action was needed.
And finally around 11:30pm, BFD responded to 800 Spencer St. for a possible structure fire. Upon arrival and after investigation, BFD found approximately 4 small fires inside the structure. BFD extinguished the fires and contained the damage to the small areas.
The fires are under investigation by the Fire Marshall’s office.
