COMMISSIONERS TABLE COUNTY OIL AND GAS LEASE BID
The Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday discussed awarding the bid for the lease of 1.293 acres of land off of FM 1948 in Washington County near Burton for oil and gas development, part of the James Mc Cain League .
Only one bid was received, and that was from Geo Southern. The commissioners decided that since the county attorney had not yet reviewed the contract and approved it, the motion to approve the bid was tabled until that time.
Also approved was the termination the Interlocal Agreement on January 18, 2016 between the City of Brenham and Washington County for the maintenance of EMS Mobile Data Terminals, and Law Enforcement Mobile Data Terminals.
The County does not have an IT department, so the City of Brenham was taking over the maintenance. The City is requiring a sixty day notice, and after that time, Washington County will take over the maintenance.
City IT Staff is working with County IT Staff on their migration plan to transfer communications to the County. It is part of the migration plan for the City and County to discontinue the Mobile Data Terminals, Interlocal Agreement before the New World Reporting Management System conversion. The NWRMS conversion is scheduled to be performed on January 18, 2016.
Precinct Three Commissioner Kirk Hanath queried County IT Manager Jerry Harris whether he was ready for the added responsibility, with Hanath citing "public safety as a reason for the question. Harris confirmed that he was ready for the responsibility.
The City of Brenham will also be approving the termination of the same Interlocal Agreement at Thursday’s City Council meeting.
The commissioners approved granting the Washington County EMS the authority to purchase a replacement vehicle. The chassis is for the squad vehicle, replacing the one that was damaged by flood waters recently. The vehicle will be purchased from Appel Ford.
