BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED ON ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON CHARGE

  

A Brenham man has been arrested on an Assault with a Deadly Weapon Charge.

On Tuesday at around 6:48pm, Officer Sierra Newell and Corporal Steven Eilert responded to a report of a theft at 1500 Farewell St at an apartment complex.

While at the scene taking the report, the sound of a gunshot from the Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant was heard.

Cpl. Eilert went to investigate, and observed a vehicle at the Guadalajara Restaurant with several occupants  speeding away from the scene. One of the persons in the vehicle attempted to run from the scene.

He was located in the apartment complex parking lot.

The others in the vehicle were ordered out.

Arrested was eighteen-year old Tyrone Ray Scyrus, Jr. of Brenham, who was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Scyrus was searched and a .380 caliber pistol was found in his possession.

Police discovered that Scyrus had been in an altercation earlier in the day with another individual, in which it was discovered that he had fired a shot at that individual earlier in the day.

The other occupants of the fleeing vehicle were identified and released.
