Both Blinn and Lee started the game with fast-paced brand of basketball. Leads went back and forth as Blinn scored six straight to take a 20-17 lead with 12:49 left in the first half. The Buccaneers continued to push the ball as Sanosi hit a 3-pointer late in the first half to give Blinn a 55-42 lead.

Lee battled back in the final minute to get the game within 55-47 at the break. Sanosi, Dewey and Dunnigan each scored 10 points in the opening half.

Blinn had a 10-0 run near the beginning of the second half that turned a two-point lead into a 70-59 lead with 12:30 left. Lee would fight back in the closing minutes to take an 87-83 lead with less than a minute remaining.

Dunnigan was able to cut the lead down to two with a pair of free throws. After Lee made one of two free throws, Dunnigan took advantage by nailing a 3-pointer at the top of the key with 5.6 seconds left to tie the game at 88-88.

Dewey had a chance to win the game after Lee was called for an offensive foul but Dewey’s last-second shot narrowly missed to force overtime. Blinn had a hard time stopping Lee down the stretch in overtime as Lee was able to hold on for the nine-point victory.

Blinn will hit the road on Saturday, Jan. 16 against Jacksonville College at 4 p.m.
