BRENHAM CHEER TEAM FINISHES IN TOP-20 IN U.I.L.

  

The Brenham High School cheer leading team finished 15th in the state in the first-ever UIL Spirit Competition, being held this week in Arlington.

Brenham finished with a total of 88.05 points.  San Antonio Alamo Heights won the State Championship with 98.45 points; Prosper was second; and Austin Vandergrift was third.

Brenham was sixth in the Preliminary Cumulative Scoring with 209 points.  Alamo Heights led with 223.3 points.

Brenham finished sixth in Preliminary Fight Song with 65.5 points.  Lumberton was first with 66.7 points.

In Crowd Leading, Brenham finished sixth with 97.7 points.  Alamo Heights was first with 97.8 points.

In the final standings, Magnolia finished fifth and Magnolia West was 18th.

Ninety 5A teams competed in the event – the first-ever sanctioned by the University Interscholastic League.

  1. Of note, Brenham finished 15th out of 90 entries in 5A. It’s not a minor accomplishment.
