TEXAS AIRPORTS AMONG TOPS IN CONFISCATED GUNS
The Transportation Security Administration says two Texas airports are among the top three in the nation, where its screeners discovered guns.
The TSA says that they confiscated 2,653 firearms in carry-on bags at airport security checkpoints across the United States in 2015 – over 400 more than the previous year.
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport lead the top 10 with 153 firearms confiscated, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at No. 2 with 144 guns. George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston was third, as TSA screeners uncovered 100 guns.
Other Texas airports on the list include Dallas Love Field Airport, with 57 guns discovered; Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, 54 guns; and Hobby Airport in Houston, 52 guns.
Of the 2,653 firearms confiscated, 2,198 were found to be loaded.
In all 236 airports had instances of guns being, up from 224 in 2014.
