DENNY’S RESTAURANT RECEIVES ONLY MINOR DAMAGE FROM SMALL FIRE

  

The Denny’s restaurant on State Highway 36 South in Brenham received only minor damage from a fire extinguishing agent after the Brenham Fire Department responded for a structure fire Thursday morning just after 7:00am.

Upon arrival, responders found that the automatic fire extinguishing system over the stove had activated and was able to keep the fire under control. A small fire under the stove was extinguished and the gas to the building was shut off.

Damage was limited to the cleaning agent in the kitchen area.

The building was shut down until later during the day after the extinguishing agent was cleaned from the kitchen area and the automatic fire extinguishing system was recharged and back in service.

The City of Brenham Health Inspector inspected and approved the reopening of the business.
