PHELPS LEAVING BRENHAM FOR POST IN HALTOM CITY
The City of Brenham has begun the search for a new Assistant City Manager.
Rex Phelps has informed the city he’s leaving for a similar post with Haltom City, a suburb of Ft. Worth, with about 45,000 people.
Phelps has been with the City of Brenham for six years – five as the police chief and the past year as the assistant city manager.
Brenham City Manager Terry Roberts says this new job is not something Phelps went out and solicited…
Phelps’ last day with the city will be Friday, April 8th.
Roberts says the city has advertised the post for several weeks and currently has about 50 resumes on hand.
Roberts says there’s no specific closing date for applications, but he hopes to begin interviews in the next two-to-three weeks.
