FOUR-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN COLLEGE STATION CLAIMS TWO LIVES
Two Navasota men are dead and a College Station Police officer is injured after an early morning accident Sunday in College Station.
According to authorities, 27-year old Frank James Douglass IV and 33-year old Marcus Dwayne Ewing were in separate vehicles involved in the four-vehicle collision.
Police say an 18-wheeler was travelling the wrong way on the feeder road of State Highway 6, when it turned onto the northbound exit ramp to enter the highway in the wrong direction.
Before the officer could pull the truck over, it struck a north-bound pickup driven by Douglass, head-on.
As authorities were at the scene, a College Station patrol unit was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Ewing. That vehicle then flipped over, killing Ewing.
The office in the patrol unit, which authorities say had its emergency lights on when it was struck, was taken to a nearby emergency room with minor injuries.
The driver and a passenger in the 18-wheeler were treated for minor injuries and released from the College Station Medical Center.
