BRENHAM POLICE SGT. JIMMY HA DECLARED CANCER-FREE

  

A member of the Brenham Police Department has been declared cancer-free.

According to the Brenham Police Department, Sergeant Jimmy Ha was diagnosed in early 2025 with an aggressive form of bladder cancer.  After undergoing surgery and several months of chemotherapy, he completed his treatment in August, and his doctors have reported the cancer is gone.

Despite undergoing treatment, Sgt. Ha has continued to serve at the police department as a supervisor.  He also led a community fundraising initiative to restart the department’s K-9 unit, and he completed training to become a K-9 handler with his new partner, Maki.

The department congratulates Ha and wishes him many healthy years ahead, saying, “Through an extraordinarily difficult season, Sergeant Ha demonstrated tremendous strength, determination, and commitment to his family, his fellow officers, and the community he serves.”
