TAX APPRAISAL NOTICES HAVE BEEN MAILED

  

14,505 notice of appraisal value have been mailed out according to Washington County Chief Appraiser, Willy Dilworth. Those receiving a notice should receive it by the first of next week.

Washington County saw an increase in this year’s freeze adjusted taxable total. The total rose 1.15% $2,652,209,002 (billion) for 2016. The total Market Value for Washington County rose 2.64% to $6,104,787,156 for 2016.

Brenham saw an increase in Net Taxable totals for 2016. The total rose .59% to $1,212,166,62 (billion). Market value in Brenham also rose 2.49% to $1,441,462,774 (billion).

While property values for both Washington County and Brenham rose for 2016 due to the increase cost of construction, both saw a hit in mineral totals. Washington County saw a 16.67% decrease in mineral value while Brenham saw a 7.08% decrease.
